Plant something beautiful in the space between memory and tomorrow.
Some dreams begin with an image that will not leave you: a person among young trees, a hand pressing soil around roots, a quiet path through a field of green. The photo series shared with this project gives Wildwood its visual language: grounded, personal, hardworking and hopeful.
From that vision comes a larger idea. What if there were a real place where people could remember someone they loved by helping plant something living? What if dedication and gratitude could become part of a working tree farm that also benefits the landscape around it?
That is the dream of Wildwood. We hope to acquire land, shape a responsible planting and stewardship program, and gradually create spaces that hold both memory and new growth.
The work is being presented by Groundcrew and Heather Killebrew. We are gathering potential partners, donors, volunteers and property leads to help decide how the project can move from concept to reality.
Today. Tomorrow. Into the future.
Today: share the dream, find the land, gather people and ideas. Tomorrow: turn a suitable site into well-planned tree-growing and memorial spaces. Into the future: care for what grows and make room for those who come after us.
This is our aspirational story, not a claim that the farm already exists. The next chapters must be written through real partnerships, careful planning and honest progress.
